Four Things About Warren Mears

1. Warren is an engineer, a genius and a supervillan, and he has the gifts and flaws of all three.  An engineer's logical thought, but also his annoyance at how messy the real world is.  The genius's ability to dream up and create things to amaze the world, but the constant irritation of being surrounded by people so much less intelligent than himself.  And, of course, the supervillan's drive to succeed no matter what, combined with an over-emotional response to failure.

2.  Andrew reminds Warren of April.  Both adoring, eager to please and completely amoral, which is probably why Warren finds Andrew appealing, but doesn't really want him.  Warren isn't blind the fact that he's attracted to strong, challenging women, but has an overwhelming urge to control them.  It's a recipe for badness, and one serving of that dish was more than enough.

Sometimes Andrew's puppy love makes Warren so angry, he remembers the time he programmed April to cry as he fucked her.  He wonders if Andrew would cry if he ever did what Andrew wants and fucked him.  Wonders if it would feel as good as it had with April.  Wonders why he gets such a kick out of hurting someone weaker than himself, someone he already has under his thumb.

3.  Kirk might have been the cool one, but Warren secretly wishes he were Spock.  His emotions have been his downfall more than once, if he could cut them away, he would.  Andrew is a big ball of random emotions, completely without logic or even much of a connection to reality.  Andrew seems to bounce through life unaware that other people are real.  Which occasionally worries Warren, since he knows enough psychology to diagnose Andrew as a possible sociopath.

Warren is fairly certain Andrew sees him as real though, the adoring looks tell him that.  Or maybe it's only Andrew's idea of him that's real in that fuzzy blond head?  If Warren ever reached out and took what was offered, would Andrew realise that the image in his head and the reality of Warren didn't match up?

4.  Warren knows his life is either going to be the stuff of legends, or very very short.
